South Peak Long-distance Ride

The South Peak Loop covers 70 miles of the southern part of the Peak District National Park.

It is a wonderfully varied and stunningly scenic ride on bridleways, old railway trails and quiet country lanes. Whilst it is not a wilderness ride, it still requires a good level of fitness for horse and rider as much of the route is over hilly, upland terrain.

The route is waymarked in both directions along public rights of way. There are fewer waymarks where the route follows roads and Trails.

We have created maps and detailed directions (going anti-clockwise) for you to download, but you should also take with you OS map OL24.

There is also a list of accommodation providers.
